Balancing Life With Life

Have you ever felt like you can’t slow down? You know what I’m talking about, right? The point when your calendar is overlapping and you have no way to keep up.

None of us feel good about that. Nobody is sitting looking at their schedule and saying, “Hmmm…well, it looks like I am not running in three different direction tomorrow, so how can I fill it up?”

Nobody does that.

Yet, for some reason, we pride ourselves on being busy. It seems like if we don’t reply, “So busy” when someone asks, “How are you doing?” we are failing.

Life can be crazy busy and out of control, if we can’t find balance.

We have to learn how to balance life with life.

In Psalm 90:12, we find these words:

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Our busyness can hinder our ability to focus on our limited time. Perhaps that is why we keep ourselves so busy?

We don’t want to acknowledge our limited time on earth, so we fill our schedule and fly from place to place, to distract us from the reality of our days being numbered.

However, look what happens when we accept our days are numbered, we gain a wise heart!

That’s right, when you live knowing you need to live your time well, you become wise.

Balancing life with life means slowing down to experience what is important. It also means filling your time focused on the Giver of life. When our time is spent focusing on God and His call in our lives, we begin to make wiser decisions on our scheduling.

We all need to analyze what we are pouring our time into. We need to be sure we are spending the limited time we have on this earth wisely, on things that hold meaning and purpose.

What are you filling your time with? What are things on your calendar that aren’t necessary or keeping you from doing more with meaning?

Take some time today to assess your schedule. Seek God to remind you of your numbered days.

Open your heart up to wisdom, in order to follow God’s lead, and use your time well for His glory.

What you are doing now might be important, but is it worth all the time you have designated for it?

May you find a way to slow down. May you spend your time wisely. May you find balance in your life with life.

Peace and blessings friends.
